What To Expect

Your Norwegian guide will pick you and your group up at your hotel reception at 7am, and you head out on the E39 coastal road in direction Stavanger. At Halhjem your group board the ferry and do the crossing for almost one hour as we sail through the scenic fjord landscape. After disembarking at Stord Island, you drive across the Island to then plunge into the deep in one of Norway's deepest road tunnels. The bottom is 262 meters under the sea.

Reaching Aksdal outside Haugesund you will have a brief coffee-break allowing you to visit toilet or have a snack. As we leave Aksdal you will see a dramatic change in the landscape, and this leads to the second ferry-crossing on the border to the North Sea. As we come to a shore in Arsvaagen we head out to the old Utstein Convent built by the Catholic Order of Saint Augustine. The Convent dates back to about 1260.

Next, we head through Stavanger and the last ferry ride, and you arrive at the hiking trail at roughly 1400 hours. You will hike up the trail from the parking by yourselves (guide will not follow you up to leave you with some privacy) in a well-marked trail/path and be at Pulpit Rock at about 4pm. At approximately 6:30pm, we depart to Stavanger and your hotel of choice (own expense).

Please note that you will only have genuine Norwegian born and bread guides on your trip. We do not use East European low-cost labor to maximize our profit. All guides used are acting non-biased and are giving advice based on their own experience.

Satisfied Customers

Check Out What Our Customers Are Saying About This Service

Firstly Norway is spectacular and Bergen a charming city with great food and warm people. Enter our tour guide Bjorn who grew up just outside of Bergen and is a true native. His knowledge of the city, region and Country are paralleled only by his ability to allow a tourist to experience Norway only as a local would. A cheerful early morning pick up at our hotel was followed by an informative boat ride through the outskirts of Bergen. Then a scenic ride through the countryside and on up into the mountains. A challenging hike was followed by an authentic Viking Lunch prepared by our guides in the picturesque town of Mo. Smoked meats, local cheeses, fresh baked bread and cinnamon rolls on a pristine lake with melting snow waterfalls and the sun shining....hard to imagine a more perfect setting. Bjorn had us back to Bergen in time for a shower, dinner and a very, very good night's sleep. I cannot recommend Bjorn more highly and thank him for providing this unforgettable experience for me and my family.
