Travelers Reviews

Is nice to have a wonderful local guide Bjourne, who is so well versed with the histories of Norway and introduced the places in details, most importantly the joyest and warmest hospitality that he rendered to us will definitely imprinted in our heart for a long long time. The places we covered today were like a fairy tale, beautiful waterfall, majestic mountains and rivers, trees with changing colours, ice aged rocks and etc really painted an unforgettable beautiful memory for life time. Thanks to Bjourne for this wonderful day. p/s the fish soup you recommended was really delicious. from Vivienne and vincent

My wife and I have been fortunate enough to travel quite often and we feel that our trip in Scandinavia particularly Norway, the road trip from Oslo to Bergen, was one of the best and memorable we have ever had so far in our life. The whole experience from the first time we sped off from the hotel in Oslo to checking in to our hotel in Bergen was almost faultless. At first, I was a little disappointed when Bjorn informed me that he was injured and not available to be our guide/driver, fearing that the tour will be different without him. However, he made sure that we are in good hands. Hanne, Bjorns replacement, was fantastic and went way beyond all expectations to show us everything she possibly could. She was our photographer and never complained, she was not strict as to the time and had never shown impatience. She was truly focused on the customer ensuring we were satisfied. She assisted us willingly to our comfort. Good for us who took advantage of the time clicking shots here and there. She even said that this is our trip, make the most of it to our satisfaction. The guide's itinerary as suggested by the company owner, Bjorn, were very informative and friendly. Norway is such a wonderful, colorful, and diverse country and this tour certainly knows how to show it off to full advantage. This is one trip that we never regret taking, we were truly amaze with the beautiful sights that we never thought existed. We highly recommend this tour with Bjorn and Hanne. We truly enjoyed our time throughout the trip. Please note that this is the first that I am submitting a review and would be selfish if I will not share our glorious experience with this particular trip.

This was an outstanding tour with Bijorn and Hanne! I would definitely recommend it. Don't be dismayed by the price, it's actually much cheaper than the other big group tours if you go with 3 or more people but it's so relaxing compared to the big tours where you are constantly being rushed from one train to bus to boat to bus to train with no time to eat or use the bathroom. After spending 4 days in Norway with a full tour each day I can share some things that will help you plan your trip. First of all we did a great day bus tour in Oslo. I would recommend the bus tour for sure as the tour guide gave us a great lesson on the history and current events in Oslo. We also had a great walk through the sculpture garden which was incredible and the only problem with this tour was that there wasn't enough time to enjoy the things we wanted to. For example we would have loved to have stayed in the sculpture garden for another hour at least. This wouldn't have been a problem during this 6 hour tour with Bijorn and Hanne who took their time with us wherever we wanted and it ended up being an 8 hour tour. The other thing about this tour is that the Fjord in Oslo isn't really one of those beautiful ones that you are flying to Norway to see, it's more like a boat ride in a harbor or bay. The Oslo Fjord is not one of the 25 wonders of the world as the others are. The 2nd day we took the train, boat and bus tours from Oslo to Bergen. The train ride for the first 5 hours is nothing special. I kept thinking is this the most beautiful train ride in the world? But we got off the train at Myrdal and then went to Flan by train and that ride is the beautiful one. It is quite nice but not nearly as amazing as the boat ride through the Fijord. That was spectacular and a must do for everyone. The only thing is that the tickets we got were not correct, it was my fault, I didn't realize that we were emailed some tickets and some codes that we needed to go and get printed as tickets and the customer service person in Flan didn't realize it either when my gut told me something was wrong and to go ask. So when we tried to get on the bus after the boat ride the driver told me that what I had was not a ticket and that we were leaving immediately so I couldn't go to the customer service desk to print the tickets and we only had 13 minutes from the bus arriving to get on our train to Bergen and that I would have to buy new tickets in Voss when we got there immediately. I didn't know how I was going to do that in 13 minutes. So my bus ride was stressful as I sat there trying to figure out what to do. This never would have happened with our private tour. After spending the day with Bijorn and Hanne, I saw how relaxing it is to just have our own private group! So worth it! The 3rd day tour also had a problem as when we went to get on the bus there turned out to be no bathroom on the bus and my girlfriend really needed to go so she ran to the bathroom the driver recommended after he said we didn't have time and then told me that if she didn't get back in 2 minutes he was going to leave without her and I would have to get off the bus and be stranded in Voss and miss our 430 per person tour. Luckily she came back in 1 minute after being denied use of the bathroom in several places and running as fast as she could from cafe to store being told she couldn't use their bathrooms. Again, very stressful. I wish we had known about Bijorn and Hanne from the beginning and we would have booked private tours with them to see the Fjord's of Norway. Now about this particular 6 hour cruise with them. First of all I have never been on a boat going that fast before. Be sure to dress very warmly! It was a nice ride an Bijorn is an endless fountain of knowledge and very forthcoming which was fun. He and Hanne treated us like friends from the beginning and we had a great time the entire day. Once we got of the boat we ate at a very quite restaurant that even the locals don't know about. We saw unique art work and then we took a beautiful drive through the country seeing fjord's from up above as we drove in a nice Mercedes van. Bijorn had a mini-fridge right in the van with drinks for us and he took us to something locals don't know about, a green lake/pond at the bottom of an old rock quarry full of minerals that we put our feet in. It was so cool! We stopped anytime we wanted for a bathroom or for food. We asked any and every question we could think of about the current or historical times of Norway and Bijorn is incredibly well informed. He is a true world traveler who went 27,000KM just this summer and has lived in the United States so he makes an outstanding guide. He is also quite funny. Personally if I had it to do over again I would book private tours with Bijorn for the whole trip, rather than the group ones.

We loved our time with Bjorn. He was an amazing tour guide. As I was traveling with my three boys ages 7, 9 and 15, I opted for a private transfer between these two cities so as not to have to drag luggage on and off the train and because we'd get a better feel for Norway driving through it rather than flying. Bjorn was flexible with our pick-up time and happy to start at 9am rather than 8am which was just too early for us to rally. He planned a kid-friendly day which included quick stops at a llama farm and horses, a more extended stop at a beautiful lake to build rock sculptures which the kids loved, a snowball fight as we passed over the mountain, roadside stop at a small Sami indigenous native people of this area market where we purchased elk and reindeer sausage, a sheepskin seat warmer and a few handmade hats, and finally a lunch stop at Voringfossen - 600 foot waterfall which was gorgeous! - and had deer stew and salmon sandwiches. Bjorn is also a photographer and experienced flying drones. He gave my oldest son who is a drone hobbyist great pointers for some wonderful shots of the waterfall. He also followed us with a drone for our speed boat ride on the fjord and kayaking which we are looking forward to seeing when he has time to send in the next few days. Bjorn is a Norwegian native and knows the country well. Appreciated his recommendations on what to do in Oslo as well as Bergen if you have kids VilVite science museum in Bergen is worth a visit when we toured on our own. Would definitely use Bjorn again. Kids are still talking about the wonderful time we had with him!

Amazing Trip I was so happy to book this amazing tour form Bergen to Oslo. Indeed, Bjorn is very informative and professional local guide/driver, he know the place very well and taking me totally off the beaten track and shows me incredible scenery that very few see. Actually this tour I have booked have the very same route from my previous Bergen to Bergen Roundtrip Tour, I actually pay to see the very same things two times. Thank you for Bjorn's professional, make a point to alternate the route for me, to not make me feel like a repetition and give me chance to know the hidden beauty of the route from Bergen to Oslo. On his car, he even provide me with cold drink and beer too. That beer was great for a sunny day. I would highly recommend this tour.

The tour guide Ola did a great job and provided very interesting information regarding the history and culture from the viking times to current day. He was able to answer our questions and made sure that everything went smoothly. The Flamsbana had some of the best views I have ever seen and a stop at a beautiful waterfall. Bergen was also a very nice town with an interesting contrast from Oslo. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see more of Norway and the beautiful landscapes it has to offer.

Review for the Oslo Tour: The Scenic Roadtrip Oslo to Bergen via the fjords by private van My wife and I were approaching the last day of a month long trip to Europe which started with a couple weeks in Paris, followed by a 10 day Baltic Sea Cruise, finishing with a few days in Oslo. The trip was a very rewarding experience so I decided to cap it for my wife with a more in-depth tour of Norways fjords than the popular, Norway in a Nutshell, tours. I made her a hasty booking for, The Scenic Roadtrip Oslo to Bergen via the fjords by private van, tour since it fulfilled my objective of an extensive tour of the fjord region that met her desire for a spectacular up close and personal view of nature. Unfortunately, because of my hasty, last minute booking I made for her for the last day of our trip, my examination of all the details of the trip was not as thorough as needed. At first glance, we simply could not execute the trip as booked and still catch our flight home the next day. And I finally realized the tour was not a small group. My wife would be with the tour guide alone, a situation she was not too comfortable with. At that point, through the efforts of the expert, patient, and creative Mr. Bjorn Rossland, who personally guided and drove us, his very generous accommodations made a potential disaster into an especially rewarding trip for my wife. In particular, he allowed me to accompany them for no charge, completely relieving my wife of her anxiety. In addition, since our restructuring the trip required an overnight stay in Bergen, he provided a superb hotel recommendation that also included a great restaurant reference for dinner. The trip was both comfortable and enlightening. Mr. Rossland is a knowledgeable and engaging conversationalist. He took exceptional pains to make our trip efficient as well as enjoyable, making the many interesting stops that illustrated the fjords at their best. And he provided great refreshments along the way in his spacious vehicle. The strawberries were fantastic! Finally, although not within the scope of his advertised tour, he added a very interesting visit to the Ekeberg Park in Oslo to complete our tour as we had developed a great relationship together through the day. I whole-heartedly recommend Mr. Bjorn Rosslands services!

This must be the best service we ever had from a transfer - and comes from us highly recommended. Me and my mother flew in from Oslo to Bergen, and as a result of heavy snowfall on the Bergen airfield runways we had a substantial delay. However the transfer company are monitoring the flights via their smartphones and where there to meet us exactly on time as we came out from luggage claim. We where met by at well dressed gentleman by the name Bjorn, who had a wheelchair ready for my mum that is normally using a roller walker. I was soooo stressed to be delayed as I had several important meetings, but was calmed by the fact that this driver seemed to know more than his way around. He backtracked of the main roads and the massive queue there, and got me to my first meeting - before he on his own, took my mother to the hotel. After my meeting I booked him again to get me to the next one, and it was nothing short of perfect. My mother told that she had never been treated so politely in a very long time by any gentleman. I did find the price high as anything in Norway - but I am in no doubt where I will book the next time. Earlier visits to Bergen I have used the taxis outside the airport, but it seems they can smell foreigners and make deliberate diversions to make the trip longer and more expensive. Today we will take the funicular to mount Floien and relax here as tourists for a few days, and my mum where able to rent the wheelchair for the next few days. Absolutely top notch service.
